DCU Aviation Society recently held a discussion panel on “The Future of Aviation Training” with key figures in the industry.
The three speakers were:
Andy O’Shea, Deputy Chief Pilot – Flight Standards, Head of Training & Chief Flying Instructor – Ryanair
Eamon Kierans, Manager Training & Standards – Aer Lingus
Captain Odhrán Murphy, Chief Flying Instructor, Flying Training School – Irish Air Corps
The engaging discussion, appealed greatly to those interested in Flight Operations in the commercial and military sectors, was moderated by Andy Mac Intyre, Aviation Lecturer, DCU Business School.
In other aviation related news, DCU was delighted to welcome Stephen Kavanagh, Aer Lingus CEO to speak to second year aviation students taking a module in airline economics and finance. He described Aer Lingus current business plan and what it is doing and needs to continue to do to expand its European and Transatlantic services.
